Working With Cancer

Want to encourage and build the confidence of employees who are affected by cancer, so that they feel fully supported at work?

I partner with Working With Cancer (WWC), a social enterprise to provide one to one coaching, practical support and a series of workshops for employees and employers affected by cancer.

For anyone affected by cancer, being able to continue to work or returning to work successfully after a period of absence, can be hugely important.  Being at work can restore a sense of normality and wellbeing, give back control and provide a sense of purpose and achievement.

WWC helps cancer sufferers and their carers remain in work during treatment and return to work successfully afterwards. In partnership with WWC, I provide training workshops to help HR professionals and line managers to support employees affected by cancer in their organisations.

Without the coaching I don’t think I would have had the confidence to address the issues I was facing. I discovered my feelings were valid and that it was acceptable to have different needs. It sounds daft to say that, but I had to believe that. Maggie has given me space to learn to accept where I am, accept what my colleagues and boss need, and as they don’t align, to move on without it being a terrifying abyss of uncertainty. The support I have had has been excellent. It really helps to speak to someone who has had cancer too. Maggie has been a kind and very skillful coach.
